Harpenden Light Operatic Society has unveiled its new name and website for the New Year.
The theatre group, which has been running for 67 years, changed its name to Harpenden Musical Theatre Company in a bid to attract new supporters and help the organisation keep going.
Society chairman Chris Cardy said: “The topic of our name has kept coming up from time to time over the years.
“Members felt the name of the society was misleading as we no longer produce ‘light operatic’ shows. Having enjoyed recent successes with new musicals such as The Witches of Eastwick, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and our recent last production, Sister Act we felt the time was right to change our name.”
In March the company is putting on a performance of The Full Monty.
