People living in Jersey Farm and near St Julian’s Church celebrated the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Royal-themed street parties.
St Albans residents put up bunting and Union Jack flags to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday, May 19.
The St Julian’s ‘British Afternoon Tea Party’ incorporated Prospect Road, The Brambles and Ashwood Mews. There were activities for children including biscuit decorating, a crown-decorating craft table, street games and glitter tattoos.
Residents took part in competitions including the ‘A Royal Mess’ cake-decorating challenge, the ‘Best of Britain’ house dressing competition, children’s fancy dress, street art, a ‘Royal Bling’ crown-decorating competition, and a ‘Royal Rumpus’ cheese-rolling contest.
In Harley Court, Jersey Farm, 28 residents, friends and family joined together with neighbours from nearby Villiers Crescent to mark the occasion with a royal quiz, games and party food.
