MORE than 20,000 ice skaters used the open-air ice-skating rink at Westminster Lodge, St Albans, during December and January.
The district council's sport and healthy living portfolio holder Cllr Sheila Burton said it was such a success that they were keen to have another ice rink in place for the coming winter.
The council hadd an agreement with the rink provider Cousins Entertainment who installed it for free but took all the profits in return.
Cllr Burton, who went skating at Westminster Lodge three times, said the council was shopping round for the best deal for the coming winter and they had three prospective companies in mind.
