SARACENS players swapped their rugby shirts for a chef's whites last week as they slaved over a hot stove for customers in a local restaurant to raise money for charity.
The first team squad cooked for and served more than 350 people at a fully-booked Nandos in Chequer Street, St Albans, on Thursday evening and raised more than £5,000 for good causes in the process.
Customers donated £5 each for the privilege and Nandos donated a large percentage of the evening's takings to the rugby stars' charity.
There was also an auction for a signed rugby shirt and the customers were offered the chance to buy a rugby ball signed by the players.
The money will go towards the Saracens Sport Foundation which works to enhance the lives of disadvantaged children and young people through the promotion of sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
