A major power cut affected a large part of St Albans this morning, with 979 properties left without electricity.
The only part of the city centre not affected appeared to be the area around Marshalswick.
Engineers restored the power at 11.39am.
UK Power Networks said: "An underground electricity cable faulted on our high voltage network, causing an area wide power cut."
