AN 18-year-old man had to be cut free from his car following an accident in Smallford last night (Sunday).
Emergency services were called to the scene near the gravel pit in Oaklands Lane just before midnight where they found the teenager from St Albans trapped in his blue Ford Fiesta.
Firefighters from St Albans cut him out of the vehicle and he was then taken by ambulance to the QE11 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City where he was treated for a minor lower back injury.
Ambulance crews from Hatfield, Letchworth and Potters Bar attended the scene.
Police closed the road from Hatfield Road to Coopers Green Lane until 2am.
