Criminals stole up to 150 litres of fuel from a lorry in a London Colney Sainsbury’s car park.

Between 3.45pm and 5pm on February 15, people came and took the diesel while the vehicle was parked directly in front of the shop in Colney Fields Shopping Park.

Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them on 101 or 01707 354470, or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The crime reference is F3/18/383.

I should probably have taken the hint! Walking out into the garden recently an unprecedented flock of thirty or more crows raucously greeted me from the treetops at the bottom of my garden. Cawing and croaking these big, black birds clung clumsily to the top most branches and twigs, jostling and flapping to stay balanced in a constant flurry of feathers. There is always something ominous about crows – they are after all carrion crows, the vultures of the bird world – always watching for scraps and weakness that might mean their next meal.
