SIR, - I agree with all your correspondents (Herts Advertiser letters, July 17 and 24) that the sub-post office and shop at 107 Station Road, Harpenden, is very valuable and should not be closed. I am aged 72 and walk to it weekly for my pension and often buy food there on other days. Hundreds of other elderly people who do not have transport will be severely disadvantaged if this branch closes.
I have appealed against the proposed closure by e-mailing consultation@postoffice.co.uk/networkchange as recommended by Cllr Mike Wakely.
