WE’RE offering the chance to win a three night break for two people in a luxury boutique propery in the heart of exotic Marrakech.

Hertfordshire couple, Mike Wood and Lucie Anderson-Wood, began Marrakech Riad as the fulfilment of an ambition to introduce the wonders of the destination to a wider audience at exceptional value for money. The company offers luxury accommodation in former traditional merchant houses converted to boutique hotels (Riads) around the Medina (Old City). They now offer Riad Papillon, Riad Cinnamon and Riad Dar Habiba which has its own Hammam – a Moroccan spa.

Riad Papillon enjoys a fantastic location near the Dar Bashah Palace and is a 10-minute walk from the main square. Special features of the property include a ground floor patio with dipping pool. The sitting room is an open “Bhou”, a traditional three-sided salon with one side open to cool the house, on the first floor and there is a roof terrace complete with fountain, barbecue, sun-loungers and an authentic Moroccan tent.

Riad Cinnamon has been beautifully restored and transformed into a luxury boutique hotel. The former merchant’s house is situated in a quiet residential area in the heart of the Medina – Marrakech old town – just to the north of the famous souks and close to the renowned Marrakech Museum. There are five beautiful guest suites and many other facilities including stunning roof terraces, patio and dipping pool.

Dar Habiba offers luxury accommodation in two rooms and two suites and as a special feature a private hamman, where guests can cleanse their bodies, relax their minds and reinvigorate the spirit in their own candlelit sauna.

They can luxuriate in the exotic smells of traditional Moroccan soaps and oils while being tended to by a personal attendant who will takes them through the experience of being cleansed from head to toe.

The team at Marrakech Riad provide a first-class boutique hotel experience for guests.

Each riad has a small staff, handpicked by Lucie, who go out of their way to make sure guests are properly looked after. The staff always have time to talk, whether it is for advice about places to visit or a chat about local culture and traditions.

Rooms at the riads are fully equipped and boast modern facilities including air-conditioning.

A delicious Moroccan breakfast is served whenever guests want and since the kitchen shops and cooks to client requirement for every meal, dietary requirements can easily be catered for. A three-course dinner is great value at around £20 per person for what one recent guest described as a “fantastic private chef experience”.

Numerous low cost and schedule flights service Marrakech throughout the year.
