SIR, - I went to the waste disposal and recycling facility at St Albans Road, Sandridge, to dispose of two old PCs, each of which had two monitors. When I put the third and the fourth monitor on the pile of old monitors and TVs I was told that there is now a restrictions of two monitors and/or TVs per household and that I should dispose of the excess items in, "some other way".
Through your newspaper I would like to ask the chief executive of Herts County Council if there is a serious policy for recycling and waste disposal when we are now being prevented from disposing of environmentally hazardous items in a safe way. If the restriction mentioned is placed on people then the result could be the disposal of hazardous items in an environmentally-destructive manner.
