SIR, - I would like to reply to Herts County Councillor Bernard Lloyd and his accusation that St Albans District Councillor Judy Shardlow's interest in school places is politically motivated (Herts Advertiser, March 12). Cllr Lloyd is either uninformed, misguided or has deluded himself on this matter.
My son was the last child in Wheathampstead to win a ranked place at a school. He eventually won his place at Sir John Lawes on July 14. Judy Shardlow was an absolute tower of strength to my family during those traumatic months and anybody who suggests Cllr Shardlow's intentions are anything other than honourable will now have me to deal with.
I do not recall Cllr Lloyd knocking on my door offering my son his help.
