SIR, - St Albans District Council were advertising for tree wardens in the Herts Advertiser on March 6. The wardens were "to get involved in practical projects such as planting and caring for trees and encouraging others to value their local trees and woods". At the same time Countryside Management Services, on behalf of the district council, were chopping down 60-plus perfectly healthy trees on Nomansland. Is this not total hypocrisy?
