SIR - I am writing on behalf of my mother, Betty Allen, who would like to thank the kind gentleman who so quickly came to her aid and everyone else who offered help when she collapsed near Barclays Bank in St Peter's Street on the morning of May 16.
Many thanks also for the excellent care she received at the QEII in Welwyn Garden City and the Lister Hospital at Stevenage. Betty is now at home making a good recovery.
