Sir, - I would like to publicly express my thanks to the staff of Sopwell Ward, St Albans City Hospital, who cared for my father, Ronald Faulder of St Albans, who died recently.
The care shown to dad by the team during his illness was remarkable. The kindness shown to us as a family and to dad during a sad and difficult time, helped tremendously. The care dad received was beyond reproach. How the team manage the day-to-day physical and emotional care of the patients is beyond me. They are required to work under difficult circumstances and each member of the team remained cheerful at all times when we were at dad's bedside.
My family and I count ourselves very lucky to have encountered such dedicated and kind people.
