SIR, - As a former work colleague of Cllr Mike Ellis, I can assure your correspondent Michael Gray (Herts Advertiser, October 9) that he is not given to anything fanciful.
Indeed I remember his working tirelessly for the best interests of his colleagues, always placing principle before self-interest.
It came as no surprise to me some years later to rediscover him elected to our district council where his talents in serving a wider community deserve to be appreciated by citizens of all political persuasions.
