SIR – I have a specific point on the widespread reduction in speed limits from 60 to 50 miles per hour. The USA have speed limits in 5mph increments so 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 mph. This does seem sensible in that a 5mph decrease in speed is significant and in

This does seem sensible in that a 5mph decrease in speed is significant and in my opinion is a far better limit for car drivers to make steady and stress-free progress as well as addressing safety concerns.
