SIR, - Further to your story regarding the overcrowding on First Capital Connect's trains there is some positive news. FCC are now employing disabled drivers, notably mutes. This diversity should be encouraged.
The evidence to back this up is overwhelming, such as this Monday's northbound 17.18 train from St Pancras, due to arrive to St Albans at 1738. With it finally limping in at 1755 - a delay of 85 per cent on the journey time - with no announcements at all, this can only be explained by this new diversity policy of FCC.
