SIR - Green Belt is sacred. It is for the benefit of us all and should be preserved at all costs.
There is only a narrow strip of green belt between St Albans and Watford, once that is eroded we will be come part of Greater London!
The planning authorities have generally resisted applications to develop on green belt and I applaud this.
Our local infrastructure is already struggling, schools, traffic levels, dentists and doctors, etc.. The solution? Make public transport more effective and affordable, if more housing is really needed use brown-field sites.
