Wow, what a fantastic summer for fruit again… If you’re growing your own it just tastes so good, but it often all comes at once and it’s hard to know what to do with it all!
I’ve got fond memories of wondering around the end of woodlands, when on holiday, and foraging for beautiful wild strawberries; so little yet big on flavour. And Strawberries go with so many things; simply sprinkled with sugar or balsamic vinegar, chucked on top of ice creamed or in open tarts, dipped in chocolate, with yogurt, even a crumble, Eton Mess and the list goes on. Not forgetting the classic Afternoon Tea as jam with scones and, of course, summer hasn’t arrived until you’ve had strawberries and cream.
If you really want to go for it then one of my favourites is this strawberry cheesecake recipe.
