Another week, another column about Rightmove – but this time it’s everyone else’s searching we’re talking about, not mine.

The property portal's most viewed homes of 2019 so far have been revealed and - not surprisingly - they're all fabulous.

From the £30m London mega-mansion to the nine-bed Chigwell pad with its home cinema and master bedroom with mirrored ceiling it's a case of so far, so salubrious - and so unsurprising.

After all, tiny terraced houses and mini maisonettes aren't generally the stuff that property dreams are made of, meaning the people searching for them online tend only to be those interested in actually buying them.

Righmove's Miles Shipside agrees, saying it's "no surprise" to find these five homes at the top of the list.

He added: "From multi-million-pound country manors to waterfront hideouts and exclusive London mansions, each of these jaw-droppingly impressive homes has something which makes them unique."

When it comes to property porn, bigger is definitely better and - and with 6,520 sq ft of living space, the London mansion is definitely not small.

The priciest pad on the list, it's a stone's throw from posh Kensington High Street and has a garden backing on to Holland Park.

The Chigwell home is the most-viewed of the lot, and its £4,999,995 price tag places it out of reach for all but a very small minority of potential purchasers.

Also on the list is are the (relatively) more affordable £3.75m Cornish waterfront house, the £3.95m home with indoor pool and spa in Prestbury, near Macclesfield, and the £3.95m 400-year-old Grade I listed manor house with outdoor pool in Christow, Exeter.

Each of these will be a property dream come true for somebody, but for the rest of us... just a dream.
