The Director at Connells St Albans answers our questions.

What’s special/different about your agency?

We care. Estate agency has evolved considerably over the years and is not just about selling a property anymore. It is about using all tools available to maximise exposure, negotiate the best price and progress a sale quickly and effectively for our customers to give them the best possible outcome. At Connells, we go the extra mile and use our wealth of experience – I have been an estate agent with Connells for 25 years - to ensure we are best placed to effectively deliver for our customers.

Where do you live and with whom?

I’m very much the family man these days and have two amazing children and a beautiful partner. My children are Freddie (aged 5 - a fiery and fun redhead) and Sophia (aged 10 - going on 18). We have recently moved from Harpenden and now live in a small hamlet close to Kimpton called Peters Green. Typically most estate agents tend to move around a little, but I have never moved too far from my home town of Redbourn.

Why did you buy your current property?

With no need for quick access to London, we wanted to obtain more house for our money and be in the country - our semi-rural hamlet is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside.

If you weren’t an Estate agent, what would you be?

An antiques dealer.

When did you buy your first property and what was it like?

The first property I bought was in St Albans city centre, and it was a one bedroom flat which cost just £35,000. It’s incredible to think that the same property would be closer to £300,000 today.

What’s your dream house?

I’m living it. Although, if you were to offer me a house in Homewood Road or Marshal’s Drive in St Albans, I might be tempted to swap. Mind you, the Bahamas has an appeal too.
