The 5,000 sq ft space – located at the Albert Bygrave Retail Park on the North Orbital Road – will open its doors in September.

The company said in a statement: “Loaf is expanding their laid-back world of beds, sofas and furniture for Loafers with two new shacks opening this summer!

“With Solihull opening in late July and St Albans in early September, Loaf will soon have seven slowrooms (they’re not showrooms!) across Blighty.”

The St Albans branch will include “mattress testing stations, oodles of squishy sofas and arcade games for little (and not-so-little) Loafers to enjoy”.

In case further incentives were required by parents of small children, there’ll also be an old-school style ice cream parlour on site.

Loaf’s founder, Charlie Marshall, said: “Our new St Albans shack is slap bang in the middle of commuter Shangri-La.

He added: “Both shacks have the perfect recipe for a happy life in the slow lane and it’s high time we brought our comfy wares to these areas. We can’t wait to open the doors!”
