SIR, - There is now one more round of continuing interest before local Year 6 children go to visit their new secondary schools. I would ask that all those parents who are in the fortunate position of having a place at one of their three preferred schools but who are still on the waiting lists for a second school, quickly make up their mind and remove themselves from the continuing interest lists to enable those poor children who still have no school place to be given a school in the next round. Otherwise there will be children on July 10 with no secondary school to visit. It goes without saying that for these children missing this visit would have a major impact. They will miss the opportunity to meet their future classmates and teachers and to begin to familiarise themselves with their new setting.

It is very easy to withdraw yourself from the lists - a few lines written to Herts County Council and you are removed. Please think about those children with no school at all and take a few minutes to free up those places on the lists.
