SIR - I am aware that anyone who reads this letter is unlikely to be the source of the problem I refer to.
I regularly walk from Highfield to Morrisons in Hatfield Road and am amazed that in 2009, people continue to drop as much as litter as I commonly see from the Spar in Highfield all the way to Morrisons in Hatfield Road. There are plenty of litter bins yet I counted (not literally) over 100 items of litter in my 20-minute walk on Monday morning.
Do we need some signs, threats of fine, a raising of the profile of this issue or am I the only one who has noticed this incredibly high volume of litter?
