SIR, - With reference to the letter and photos of the 1945 Oakwood Road, Bricket Wood Street Party (Herts Advertiser, Thursday 7). The two boys dressed alike (as The Western Brothers, a 1930s/40s double act) are my husband Robert Walker (left) and Neil Tilbury (right) who were both then aged three. The lad in between them is Richard Pointer and Mr Pointer, his father, is the clown. The black minstrel was Arthur Tilbury (Neil's father) and also in the photo is Jill, the sister of Neil and daughter of Arthur. Dave Bishop is also pictured in the photo.

Dave Bishop still lives in Bricket Wood and my husband and our family still live on the same plot of land in Oakwood Road, where, incidentally, my husband was born.

It was quite thrilling for my husband to resurrect old memories.

CHRISTINE WALKER,

By email.
