SIR - I find it incredulous that the front-page story (Herts Advertiser, October 23) revolves around the paltry sum of £42.50 being incurred by Save the Children Funds Xmas stall, whereas it is only on page 7 that the £28m of taxpayers money languishing somewhere in the mid-Atlantic gets a mention.
If SCF wish to get in contact I will send them a cheque for £42.50 to put an end to this tragic financial calamity that has hit them. Hopefully the £20m plus of "investments" - of which over £3m is overseas - mentioned in the latest SCF annual report won't suffer the same fate as Herts County Council overseas investment portfolio.
