SIR, - The problem that Kim Shand had with First Capital Connect (FCC) is yet another example of a problem that permeates our society - namely the failure today of anyone to take any responsibility for their actions. As soon as someone is called to account, the first thing they do is to excuse themselves by offering the feeble defence of, "I've done nothing wrong". The reality is usually that they have not done things right.
FCC is responsible through its staff for an act of omission and should pay compensation.
