SIR, - What a shame that Mr David Collins was disturbed by the amplified PA system on Sunday, October 12, at the start of the Herts 10K Challenge (Herts Advertiser, October 16).
Did he think of the people who gave up all of their Sunday to make a difference to Grove House day hospice. I also heard the noise and it made me think of all those good people.
I don't use Grove House but donate work that only makes them £100 each three months but they are so, so grateful.
I hope Mr Collins never has to use Grove House but if he does he will surely change his mind over one hour of noise.
