Missing cyclists

SIR, — OUR local cycle shop tells me he has sold 15,000 cycles since 1989. He sells 900-1,000 cycles a year now. My puzzle is why don t we see them on our roads? PAT LEISHMAN, Carisbrooke Road, Harpenden.
