SIR, - I lost my gold engagement ring at the end of August while working at the Oxfam shop in Chequer Street, St Albans. It wasn't big or flashy but my husband and I chose it together over 44 years ago and I wore it whenever I went out.
I searched the shop floor and even sifted the vacuum cleaner contents without success. It's just possible the ring slipped off my finger into some purchaser's shopping while I packed their goods. I have a bad record of losing things but have often been lucky enough to recover them. If any of your readers found my ring among their Oxfam shopping, please could they contact me via the Oxfam shop in Chequer Street.
MRS E.K. LAWRENCE,
The Ridgeway, St Albans.
