SIR - Is your correspondent Robert Hill a victim of global warming? I enjoy reading his quirky, eccentric and often dippy jottings.
Like hearing the first cuckoo I always look forward to his annual debut in your columns.
However I have noticed an alarming change. Instead of flying away to warmer climes he appears to be frequenting his Harpenden habitat for longer and longer periods.
His latest mating call was recorded as late as December 30 and despite the cold snap I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't hear him again soon. The downside to this is that if global warming really is to blame for his pronouncements, will anyone continue to take any notice?
