SIR, - Of all the potholes and poor road conditions reported in and around St Albans, it would seem rather curious that preference seems to have been given to repairing the short stretch of road behind the St Albans District Council building that leads to the car park used by council members and staff - road crews were working there last Friday.
Is this little-used, dead-end road really a key thoroughfare of the city deserving of priority attention or are ulterior motives in play?
