SIR - You report (Herts Advertiser, July 2) that Anne Main is in the spotlight again over her expenses. Be that as it may, we do need to keep in perspective the fact that she has been an excellent MP. In April 2005, Kerry Pollard, our previous MP, was not prepared to be accountable to us, his electorate, by coming to the traditional election hustings at the Abbey. Anne Main was. My experience was that Kerry Pollard didn't always answer letters. My experience is that Anne Main does. Moreover in the numerous votes on moral issues that have come up in Parliament recently, Anne Main has shown sound judgement. If we are unforgiving to her on this, St Albans might find itself a much less good representative after the next election.
