SIR - I wanted to draw the local residents' attention to the arrival of Google Street View in the area. Many people may well be unaware that pictures of their house are now on the internet for all to see.
If you have access to the internet go and have a look and decide for yourself if you want your house online or not. If you want it removed then look at the bottom left hand corner of the screen for the words "report a problem". Click on this and a pop up will enable you to request the image be removed.
Many elderly residents with no computer may not be aware of this service and therefore I suggest they ask a friend or relative to check on their behalf.
Google has overstepped the mark as far as I am concerned, so if you feel the same way, then get your home removed from it quickly too!
