CELEBRATE the finest Hertfordshire has to offer at this year’s County Show.

The Hertfordshire County Show is the highlight of the county’s outside event calendar, and 2011 will be no exception, offering traditional displays and demonstrations combined with spectacular grand ring attractions to present a fun-filled day out for all the family.

This year’s attractions include Europe’s number one stunt and trick riding team the Devil’s Horsemen on Saturday, together with the spectacular Bolddog Lings freestyle motorcycle display team on Sunday. Both these major acts performed at the 2010 Show, and have been re-booked due to popular demand.

This year’s main show education event is the Hertfordshire Primary Schools Farm Animals Poetry competition. This innovative contest is open to three categories: three to six years, seven to nine years, and nine to 11 years. The three winning entries will each receive a 150 cash prize for educational resources, and school class entry tickets to the Willows Farm Village in London Colney. All finalists, and the winning entries will be on display in the Hertfordshire County Council marquee at the show.

As always, the food hall, horticultural marquee, Hertfordshire food and farming marquee, Autorama sites and the shopping and craft marquees will offer plenty of opportunities for window shoppers looking for some unusual items, and lots of top quality bargains.

To help combat the ongoing gloom and doom surrounding the UK economy, the show is offering a significant 20 per cent discount for advance tickets and free parking. In addition, all children’s and adults’ entertainment is free, including the all-human circus, Punch and Judy, face painting, simulator rides, the hilarious sheep show, climbing wall and all grand ring attractions.

Show Secretary Mike Harman said: “Although the Hertfordshire County Show is already widely acknowledged as the best value for money community event in the county, we are determined to extend our growing reputation in 2011. We strongly believe that the 2011 family advance ticket at 30.40, (admitting two adults, and two children), offers exceptional value at less than 4 per hour, per family! We are delighted to acknowledge the support from both the Welwyn Hatfield Times and the Herts Advertiser as our exclusive 2011 show media sponsors.

“We warmly invite both first-time visitors, and our regular show supporters to join us to enjoy and celebrate the 125th Hertfordshire County Show on Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, at our Redbourn showground.”
