Geoff Saul, local historian, at St Stephens Parish Centre, Friday, May 9, 7.30pm.

As part of the celebrations for the Abbey Line's 150th Anniversary, ABFLY have organised a special lecture by Geoff Saul, a local historian, about the origins of the branch line.

Geoff, a retired Chemistry teacher from Brunel University, has been the chairman of the Rickmansworth Historical Society for the last 15 years. His talk will focus on the 'railway mania' of the mid-1840s, the influence of Lord Ebury, railways in the area that were planned but never executed, and how the Abbey Line eventually came to be.

This promises to be a fascinating evening and entrance is free so do join us.
