SIR, - We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest thanks to all the people who helped make our fun day for Aisha. To those people who did not read the story you printed (Herts Advertiser, June 19), Aisha is an eight-year-old girl who has leukaemia and we wanted to raise enough money to re-decorate her bedroom. With all the support we had from local businesses and friends and family, we more than achieved our objective and raised in the region of £3,000, with more money promised.
We would like to thank the morning golfers, the afternoon footballers, the evening revellers and most importantly those people who donated superb raffle prizes and donations. We would also like to thank all those people who gave their time and effort to make it a wonderful day.
Aisha has had another set back in her treatment schedule and we wish her a speedy recovery. Once again, thank you all.
AISHA'S FRIENDS,
Albert Street, St Albans.
