SIR - I have a suggestion regarding the potentially flawed road data for the proposed development at Park Street.
Rather than employing guesswork on this matter, why not tell the developer that, on an ongoing basis, they will only be allowed a certain number of lorry movements (one, perhaps?) per train wagon movement, on pain of crippling fines?
If the limit was set sensibly it seems to me it would prevent one of the greatest fears, which is that the developer actually plans a road-to-road interchange and warehousing operation on Green Belt land, which is clearly a bad thing.
Genuinely encouraging rail freight is, on the other hand, a good thing, although I accept without knowledge that there may be more appropriate places than this one to do it.
