SIR - I am wondering why, in these days of doom and gloom whenever you switch on the national news, when we have something as exciting as the Heartwood Forest happening on our doorstep, the only response on these pages is criticism.
My family, including grandchildren and dogs, have already had some lovely walks there around the wide grass tracks. The access is so easy through the kissing gates and there are wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. To have access in the springtime and be able to see the woods covered in bluebells is an asset that many people would envy.
