SIR - I read with dismay the article about St Albans District Council's decision to charge for the St Peter's Street pitch for the Save the Children's Fund Christmas Fund Raising (Herts Advertiser, October 23). It demonstrates quite clearly to me how pathetic those who supposedly represent this area of Herts have become.
I will be happy to pay the total £42.50 rent to cover the pitch for 2008.
