SIR - Last Thursday there was another "run" on the continuing interest list for children trying to gain a place at their favoured secondary school. My son, who has not been allocated a local school, had been hopeful that this time he would be successful.
He was at home when the bad news arrived that not only had he not been given a place but that he had remained in the same position on the list.
The poor lad thought the reason he was the only boy in his class not to be given a school was because he wasn't working hard enough.
So, well done Herts County Council, you made a young boy cry. I hope you are all proud of yourselves.
