SIR - Something that has started to concern me over the last few months is the lack of zebra crossings on Hatfield Road.
When I get off my bus just before the Homebase I need to cross the road to get home.
It usually takes me between 5-10 minutes to get a clear bit of road to cross as drivers are constantly speeding and there is never any let up in the sheer number of cars passing by.
It is astonishing that there hasn't been a fatality on this part of Hatfield Road before considering how unfriendly it is to pedestrians with extremely thin pavements and no crossings.
Obviously the council doesn't see it as a priority and will only react AFTER somebody loses their life... a bit like the lack of grit on St Albans roads until it was like Dancing on Ice out there.
It's a death trap in the making so might be worth keeping this letter in the archives so the courts can use it as "Exhibit A".
