SIR - So, it is now clear that our Herts County Councillors "invested" large sums of our money - that is, taxpayers' money - in various Icelandic banks well after the credit ratings of these institutions had been downgraded. This, despite their collective assertions that they had been monitoring the situation closely and ensuring the best return for the taxpayer.
