COUNCIL ELECTIONS: Further Lib Dem losses

THE Liberal Democrats continue to take a thrashing from their Conservative rivals in the council elections.

The Tories have gained Verulam ward from the Lib Dems, with Altun Dursan taking the seat from sitting Lib Dem councillor Martin Frearson.

And former Conservative councillor Salih Gaygusuz has regained Marshalswick South ward from Lib Dems.

Meanwhile, Labour’s Eileen Harris has held Sopwell ward for her party.
