SIR - I wholeheartedly agree with Mr Michael Martin (Herts Advertiser, February 21) about the felling of 60 mature oak trees on Nomansland Common, Wheathampstead.
While a waste recycling firm in St Albans are planting a tree for so many tons of paper they receive, Countryside Management Services, in their wisdom, are felling them. Why is it that most of the letters on your pages seem to be saying that the powers that be - the council etc - just don't listen to what everyone is saying.
