SIR, - Re Tesco's bid to build a superstore in St Albans. So, more than 1,000 letters of objection were received by the district council's planning department (Herts Advertiser, June 19).
Considering the population of St Albans, that is a very small percentage indeed. The rest of us who did not write to object must be the silent majority, far, far outnumbering the vociferous few with objections.
