SIR, - The age of chivalry is still with us, thank goodness.
I was struggling off a bus on a recent Saturday outside the Post Office in St Albans, loaded with shopping. There was a crowd waiting to get onto the bus when out of the crowd stepped a gentleman who took my hand and helped me to get off the bus. I was very grateful to this gentleman.
When my husband was alive, he was always there to help me off buses etc - these things I miss very much.
I do wish to thank that gentleman for his help and thoughtfulness. I wish there were more like him.
