SIR, - I was pleased to see the presence of K&M Traffic Survey carrying out a traffic count at various prominent junctions to the proposed Tesco supermarket site on London Road, St Albans, during last Friday and Saturday.
While K&M were not prepared to say who had commissioned the traffic survey, it is good to know that someone is prepared to take a fresh look at the current and potential level of traffic around this site.
Despite assurances from tesco that the round would be able to cope with the extra traffic generated by their store, it is important that the fears of local residents are being addresses. After all, St Albans is one of England's oldest and finest market towns.
