SIR, - What a shame the Robertson family didn't join all the other residents who came out to offer us encouragement and support on the recent Midnight Walk to raise much needed funds for Grove House (Herts Advertiser letters, July 10). A big thank you to those who did - also to the revellers around the city who cheered us on and generously donated money.
I was one of nearly 800 ladies who took part. When we reached Jersey Farm, about half way round the 10-mile circuit, we needed to laugh, chat and call encouragement to one another to keep us going for the next five miles. It was a wonderful night, it was warm, the stars were out - not only in the night sky but in the walkers, marshals and organisers who kept us safe and offered encouragement. They are all stars. Together we raised almost £80,000 for Grove House. A wonderful achievement.
