SIR - Your report "Third-Age group grows" (Herts Advertiser, November 13) may have given the impression that this is the first such venture in St Albans. As a past chairman of St Albans U3A (University of the Third Age), I can confirm that last year we celebrated our 25th anniversary and about three months ago we relocated from St Saviour's Church Hall to the Highfield Centre to cater for our ever-growing membership.
That said, I welcome the new group which may be more convenient for those who live in the Bricket Wood area and am pleased that so many senior citizens are discovering and appreciating the benefits that U3A has to offer.

Marshalswick Lane, St Albans.
